Block Paving

In both block paving and paving slabs there is a much wider selection of colour, shape, texture and design than there has ever been before.

Remember an attractive well kept driveway, patio or path can add considerably to the value of your home.

The procedure for laying block paving usually follows these guidelines:

  • Excavation: Dig off and dispose of soil. We sometimes hire a mini-digger for this purpose
  • Sub-base: Spread, level & compact a minimum 100mm thick layer of sub-base material
  • Edge Courses & Kerbs: we lay these into a concrete base
  • Laying Course: Spread, level and compact laying-course sand and screed to correct level
  • Block Laying: Many plans call for a 45 degree pattern or "herringbone" pattern but many other types are available
  • Alignment & Compliance
  • Cutting-in: Once the alignment has been checked and verified, the edges are cut in
  • Completion: finally the joints are swept with kiln-dried sand

Your driveway or patio will be to your design, but we are very happy to help with your ideas.

As Brett Approved Contractors, they offer a 10 year product guarantee on any Brett product that we lay.
